Public Works Department through Executive Engineer, WD-XIV(NH), had acquired the land for the western bypass, under survey no.48/3, of Telaulim Village of Salcete Taluka admeasuring an area of 2725.00 m2 as per award No.LQN/5/2001 dated 11/12/2001.
PWD states that due compensation has been paid amounting to Rs.19484.42 each to Mr___ & Mrs___ , The case was referred to the Collector, South Goa District and Hon’ble Minister for Labour/Employment/Fisheries with no positive results.
The fact is that neither of the two has received the money till date. The officer in charge of disbursement must have made the payment to a fraudulent imposter without doing proper verification or identification or did a magic or fraud, since the man/beneficiary for the compensation was dead in the year 1997 four years prior to the date of disbursement and his wife a widow/senior citizen never claimed a penny from the department.
Public should be aware of such cases happening in Goa and make note of such cheating frauds.
