BICHOLIM: Despite making the traffic rules more stringent, the indiscipline while driving has got motorists into trouble. As per the information provided by Bicholim Traffic Cell’s PI Gaurish Malik, nearly Rs 90 lakh has been collected in revenue through fines from January this year till June so far. In total, 13,399 motorists were penalised during this period.
Last year, 35,503 motorists were penalised. Bicholim Municipal Council had announced that a pay parking facility would be arranged in Bicholim market soon and despite inspecting the area several times, nothing concrete has been done so far.
