MAPUSA: Students from Bardez and other parts of Goa will hold a climate strike against the fast deteriorating environment at the Mapusa taxi stand on Friday from 5 pm to 7 pm.
“The focus of this climate strike at Mapusa, which is part of the 153-plus countries global movement is to bring awareness over the need to act against destruction of Goa’s rich biodiversity that has taken a heavy toll on our forests, mangroves, sand dunes, rivers, seas, hills, wildlife,” said a school student and convenor Climate Strike Goa, Ian Pereira.
The organisers of the climate strike have appealed to the student community and adults alike to join in large numbers.
This peaceful climate strike will have leading musicians performing songs on environmental issues and global warming.
