Lauding Goa police’s efforts to encourage more women to join the force, Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar asserted that increasing their strength would reduce corruption in the department, as, according to him women are sensitive to social issues.
Speaking during the launch of senior citizen’s police helpline, Parsekar was quite gung-ho about increasing the women staff strength in police.
“The number of women in the police force should be increased to shed the corruption tag which the Goa police presently carry. I was happy to receive the Guard of Honour from women platoon (before the launch of the toll free number). I want them to rule the department,” he said.
Surprisingly Parsekar admitted that some anti social elements in the force were tarnishing the reputation of Goa police.
