He was reacting to British MP Tim Loughton’s allegation in British Parliament that foreign nationals investing in Goa are subjected to harassment by the Enforcement Directorate officials. Terming the matter as “serious”, Parsekar said he would get in touch with UK officials to inquire into the exact details of the case.
“It is a serious matter. I will find out what was the issue here. Goa government is discouraging sale of land. Now, whether the land (sold to British nationals) was for genuine reason or somebody had ulterior motives, needs to be probed,” he said while speaking to a section of journalists after the cabinet briefing on Friday.
