PANJIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant will on Monday meet the concerned departments with regards to the State’s preparedness ahead of the COVID-19 vaccine rollout. Goa is geared up to carry out the vaccination drive on January 16, along with the rest of the country.

“After video conferencing meeting with Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) there will be meeting with all concerned departments on how to take the programme forward,” the Chief Minister said.
PM Modi will hold a virtual meeting with chief ministers of all States and Union Territories to review the preparedness of States across the country on vaccine rollout.
In Goa, eight hospitals have been notified, for the exercise. The National Expert Group on Vaccine Administration for COVID-19 (NEGVAC) has already identified a priority group which will be vaccinated first.
Around 18,000 healthcare workers will be the first batch to receive the vaccine.
The eight hospitals include Goa Medical College, Hospicio-Margao, Asilo-Mapusa, Chicalim Health Centre -Vasco, Sub District Hospital – Ponda, Manipal Hospital – Dona Paula, Healthway Hospital – Old Goa and Victor Hospital –Margao for the first phase of COVID-19 vaccination.
Goa has already conducted two dry runs along with rest of the country.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister claimed that land demarcation work for IIT project at Melauli will start shortly.
