CM to seek CBI inquiry

CURCHOREM:  Chief Minister Laximikant Parsekar on Saturday said he will ask for a CBI inquiry in the matter of an American company bribing Goa’s Finance Minister, PWD minister and some officials for awarding a water development project contract.
“At the time of awarding the contract former Chief Minister Digamber Kamat was the finance minister and Churchill Alemao was PWD minister. Now people have to know to which minister the company has bribed or whether they shared. Since it is an international matter, Goa police can’t investigate the case and therefore the government has decided to write to the Prime Minister and Home Minister demanding a CBI inquiry as the truth should come before the Goan people, country and the world,” Parsekar said.
He added that all projects by Louis Berger in Goa will be probed.
