CM: Will help Udaivar family get back body

MARGAO: Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar has assured help to the aggrieved Udaivar family to get back the body of their family member, Suchitra Udaivar

“I know the matter and have asked my Officer on Special Duty to personally make a visit and to solve the family’s problem as soon as possible,” said Parsekar, while addressing the media on Friday.
Meanwhile, the police have informed that the family has been advised to conduct a post mortem, and without any further delay, take possession of the body for final rites.
“The family has met us and has nearly been convinced to have a post-mortem examination. We have also assured all the help to the family to transport the body to their place soon after the examination is done,” said Superintendent of Police Shekhar Prabhudessai.
Similarly, the Hospicio medical superintendent has said that she is waiting for the assent of the police for the post-mortem and will subsequently carry out the same.
It may be recalled that an army and Air India ex-servicemen, Subhash Udaivar, has accused the Superintendent of Hospicio Hospital, Superintendent of Police and South Goa Collector of “inhuman and immoral” treatment over his wife, Suchitra’s death.
The post mortem will enable the release of the body to the family.
