MARGAO: The Cuncolim Municipal Council has approached the Director of Municipal Administration (DMA) to sanction grants towards the sound system and air conditioning of the municipal hall.
CMC Chairperson Devendra Desai said that he has spoken to the DMA Elvis Gomes to consider the request of the civic body since the 800-capacity hall has no provision for air conditioning and sound system.
“Gomes has promised to look into the matter and the Civic body would soon submit a detailed proposal to the DMA for consideration”, he said.
Though the long-delayed Cuncolim Municipal hall was inaugurated a month ago, tiatrists, tiatr lovers as well as local citizens have complained to the Civic body over the absence of air conditioning and sound system facility.
The CMC Chairperson said that rough estimates prepared by the Civic body have put the estimates to around Rs 15 lakhs. “As far as the air conditioning facility is concerned, it has been suggested to go in for centralized air conditioning”, he added.
