MARGAO: West Bengal youth Rahul Chandra, accused of raping a 15-year-old girl, was arrested by the Colva police team in Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. After being brought back, he was interrogated by PSI Deepa Deykar, who is handling the case. The accused was produced before the judicial magistrate and has been remanded for six days.
In May, a minor girl from a village in Salcete was kidnapped from her parents’ custody and allegedly raped by Chandra multiple times, in a flat in Colva. The accused, who works in a private company, had been on the run since the incident.

Colva police registered the offense against Chandra under IPC Sections 363 and 376 and under the Goa Children’s Act and the POCSO Act, based on the complaint filed by the victim’s mother.
