MARGAO: Colva police, acting on a State complaint, executed a narcotics raid on November 1 evening, near Lovers Beach in Betalbatim, Salcete.

During the operation, officers discovered a bag containing a flowery substance, suspected to be Ganja, weighing 895 grams and valued at approximately Rs 89,500.
The accused, Sumeet Mohan Das, a resident of Betalbatim originally from Khordha, Odisha, was found in possession of the illicit substance.
An offence has been registered under Section 20 (b) (ii) (B) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. The investigation is currently being led by PSI Varshda Naik Dessai of Colva Police Station.
