Colva Residents Oppose Proposed Villa Project, Demand Immediate Halt

Colva: Residents of Colva have strongly opposed a proposed residential villa development project in their locality and have demanded that the authorities stop the project immediately.

Addressing a press conference, villagers voiced concerns over the potential impact of the development on the environment, local infrastructure, and the overall character of the area. They argued that large-scale villa projects could alter the village’s traditional landscape and place additional pressure on existing civic amenities.

The residents stated that they do not want extensive villa developments in the locality and urged the authorities to take into account the sentiments of local people before granting any further approvals. They also called for greater transparency in the decision-making and approval process related to the project.

Meanwhile, documents linked to the development have surfaced, including a completion certificate issued by the architect for the proposed residential villas, swimming pool, and compound wall at Survey No. 771/1-K in Colva.

Villagers maintained that they will continue to oppose the project and seek intervention from the concerned authorities to ensure that their concerns are addressed before any further steps are taken.
