MARGAO: The village panchayat of Colva has raised strong objections against the proposed sewage pumping station in the area, following concerns voiced by locals.

The objection was initially raised by Simao Rodrigues, a gram sabha member, during the meeting held on October 27. Subsequently, the panchayat passed a unanimous resolution, emphasising that the residents of Colva are vehemently opposed to the establishment of the pumping station in the locality, citing potential adverse effects on their neighbourhood.
In the letter to the Sewage Department, Sarpanch Suzie Fernandes urged the authorities to reconsider their plans. “In light of this resolution, we kindly request the department to reconsider and halt the plans for the pumping station at the proposed location,” Fernandes stated.
