MARGAO: Congress MLA Reginaldo Lourenco on Wednesday asked Chief Minister, Manohar Parrikar to come clean on the Goa Meat Complex episode, even as he disclosed plans to file a review petition in the High Court on the matter.
“I am ready to give the Chief Minister the benefit of doubt, but he should come out clean on his association with the petitioner Trust and his resignation from the Trust a month before the petitioner filed the petition in the HC”, Reginaldo said at a press conference.
“It appears to be a conspiracy of RSS, Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the BJP government in power to deprive the Catholic and Muslim population of Goa with high protein beef”, he said.
He pointed out that Dr Ramkrishna Jog was the competent authority in permitting the slaughter of animals, but his fact was pointed out by any of the authorities including Advocate General  A N S Nadkarni to the High Court.
Referring to the statement made by Lyndon Monteiro to appoint a senior advocate to file a review petition in the HCourt, Reginaldo demanded to know whether the GMC chairman have no trust in the AG.
He claimed that the CM misled the Assembly on the issue and wondered why Parrikar did not tell the House that he was an advisor to Govansh Raksha Manch.
