PONDA: Commuting along the 1.5 km stretch from Curti to Priol has turned out to be a “nightmarish” experience for travellers.

Naresh Naik, a local said, “The stretch was dug twice for laying underground electricity cables last year, but the road is yet to be restored to its original condition. To make matters worse for daily commuters, the stretch has developed potholes and many travellers have been complaining of suffering from back problems.”
The commuters complain that they are compelled to spend their hard-earned money on repairing their vehicles. They have demanded that the government repair the road immediately and provide relief to them. With the power cabling work complete, the commuters called upon the authorities to hot mix the stretch before monsoon.
They feared that if the stretch is not hotmixed before monsoon, it could prove dangerous to commuters. The locals claimed that some portion of the road has caved in, which could lead to fatal accidents, especially two-wheeler riders .
Curti-Khandepar sarpanch Abhijeet Gaude informed that he has discussed the problem with PWD AE, local MLA and Agriculture Minister Ravi Naik.
