Congress spokesman Sunil Kawthankar in his complaint said that in case no action was taken he would have to file a police complaint and/or approach the courts.
The Congress alleged that tickets that are being sold are not even authenticated by the commercial tax department, as 100 percent of entrainment tax on tickets has to be paid in advance.
Wednesday, Kawthankar had alleged said that the organizers had announced sale of online ticket from August 2014 for the event that takes place in December.
Kawthankar said that despite former Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar being critical of the festival, citing issues like noise pollution and drug trade, the BJP-government this year has gone ahead and granted ‘in-principle’ approval to the festivals. He alleged that this could be for reasons other than merit.
The Sunburn festival organized by Percept Ltd, Mumbai, which will enter its eighth edition, is being held at Vagator, while Viacom 18’s Supersonic festival will be held at Candolim.
