MARGAO: Fourteen police inspectors who were appointed in 1992 were then promoted in 2002 have not been promoted since then even though they are over-due for a promotion.
This was revealed by Congress Spokesperson Urfan Mulla at a press conference on Friday.
“Why has the government not promoted these PIs even after working for 17 years in the current position,” he questioned. He stated that the government wants to appoint people for the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police directly instead of promoting the 14 PIs to the post of DySP. He accused certain ministers including those from the alliance parties.
Accusing the government of doing injustice, he also questioned why the government was getting IPS officers instead of promoting Goans to the top position.
He said that when the Congress comes back to power, all these PIs and other staff who are awaiting promotion will be promoted.
within 15 days.
