The Congress party has suspended Manisha Usgaonkar and its social media coordinator, Shamila Siddiqui, over allegations of indiscipline, party leader Amarnath Panjikar announced.
According to Panjikar, the decision was taken during a party meeting following discussions on internal discipline and certain social media posts that were allegedly directed against the Congress.
He said an inquiry into the matter is currently underway and both Usgaonkar and Siddiqui have been given an opportunity to present their explanations before the party.
The suspension comes as the Congress leadership seeks to enforce internal discipline and address issues related to public statements and social media activity by party members. Further action, if any, will depend on the outcome of the ongoing inquiry.
