Court Order Must Be Accepted, Says Tanavade on Poll Decision

Responding to the recent court-directed development in the election matter, Sadanand Tanavade said the order must be respected and accepted by all concerned. He noted that while the decision would have ideally come earlier, the matter is now beyond political intervention as it falls under judicial direction.

Tanavade pointed out that campaigning had already taken place, postal voting had begun, and officials had reached polling stations before the order was issued. However, he stressed that the Election Commission is an autonomous body and will take decisions independently.

He further asserted that neither the government nor the party can interfere in the Commission’s functioning and claimed the BJP would have won the election comfortably.
