The Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Panjim has directed that summons be issued to Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane to appear before the Court on September 14.
Rane has been asked to be present in the Court in the criminal case to answer charges of having threatened to kill Adv Aires Rodrigues on July 31, 2007.
Adv Rodrigues has also served a legal notice on Old Goa Police Inspector Gurudas Gawde for not pursuing the charge sheet filed against Rane.
After going slow for two years in the matter, the Old Goa Police charge sheeted Rane on May 8, 2009. Rane faces charges under Sec 506 (II) of Indian Penal Code.
