PANJIM: Goa’s COVID-19 active case tally crossed the 4000-mark on Sunday and stood at 4,322 with 525 new cases reported in the last 24 hours.
What is worrying is that of these, 4,265 new patients were added from April 1 to April 11, which is almost 98 per cent. On an average, April saw 387 new cases daily.
The month has also reported 18 COVID-related fatalities while 1,480 patients have also recovered.
As per the Health Bulletin issued, of the total 2,505 samples tested, 525 have tested positive for the infection.
The recovery rate continues to move downward at 91.70 percent as on Sunday- the day which saw 170 patients declared cured.
In last 24 hours, two patients also succumbed to the infection at Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC).
Since January 29, till date, State has total 62,304 confirmed COVID-19 cases.
A total of 57,134 patients have also recovered during the period, while 848, with co-morbid conditions, have lost their lives due to the deadly infection.
