A cow that accidentally fell into a deep well near St. Anthony Chapel at Praise Vaddo, Anjuna, was safely rescued on Friday afternoon, thanks to the swift action of the Mapusa Fire Brigade and local residents.
The incident occurred around 12:56 p.m. when locals noticed the animal trapped inside the well and immediately alerted the fire services. A team from the Mapusa Fire Station, led by Firefighter Shri Suraj Shetgaonkar, promptly arrived at the scene and, with the help of villagers, carried out a coordinated rescue operation.

After nearly an hour of effort, the team successfully pulled the cow out using ropes and rescue equipment. Fortunately, the animal was unharmed.
