Nilesh Cabral, MLA of Curchorem, met officials of the Electricity Department following a spate of complaints from residents regarding “soaring” electricity bills.
Cabral said consumers have expressed serious concern over what they describe as unusually high charges, prompting him to seek urgent clarification from the department on the billing pattern.

He added that the matter will be taken up shortly with the Chief Minister and the Power Minister to ensure that the concerns of consumers are addressed and that corrective steps are taken if required.
The MLA assured residents that he is actively pursuing the issue and will continue to follow up until clarity and relief are provided.
