Curti locals threatened to launch an agitation if the TCP, Forest, PWD and Electricity Departments fail to initiate any action. Sarpanch Sudhir Raut assured the villagers to conduct a joint inspection along with TCP, PWD and Electricity Depts.

Raut said, “Following a complaint from locals, the panchayat today inspected the site. Based on TCP approval, the private company has carried out some work with panchayat permission. However, as locals complained about road widening work, we will inform the  depts concerned and conduct a joint inspection.”

Earlier this month, the locals had complained to the panchayat against the private company for carrying out illegal excavation of the Curti–Chirputem road for widening the same for construction activity.

The locals alleged that the said road was constructed by PWD and the private company widened it to facilitate constructions and development of plots in the property located by the roadside.
