Curtorim Resident Arrested by Maina-Curtorim Police for Alleged Sexual Assault of Minor

The Maina-Curtorim police have arrested a man in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a minor girl, following a complaint filed by the child’s mother. According to the complaint, the accused, identified as Amar, a resident of Curtorim, is alleged to have sexually assaulted, raped and repeatedly harassed the minor over an extended period beginning in September 2024 and continuing until January 6, 2026.

Acting on the complaint, the police registered a case and arrested the accused. He has been booked under Sections 64(1) and 65(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Section 8(2) of the Goa Children Act, and Sections 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Police officials stated that further investigation into the case is ongoing and is being led by LPSI Veronica Coutinho.
