Curtorim Teen Intercepted Near Chandor While Attempting to Flee Home at Night

An 18-year-old girl from Maina-Curtorim was intercepted in the early hours of Thursday while allegedly attempting to run away from her rented residence. The incident took place around 3 a.m. near Chandor, when PSI Veronica Coutinho, on routine night patrol, spotted the girl waiting for transport to Margao.

Police officials said the teenager was taken into custody for her safety and subsequently handed over to her mother. According to sources, the girl had recently returned home after a stay at Apna Ghar, a state-run shelter for women and children.
