MARGAO: Goa Forward Party President Vijai Sardesai has declared prominent social worker Custodio Dias as the Fatorda Forward candidate for Ward No 7.

Vijai was seen along with Custodio and his supporters campaigning in the ward that includes Agalli, Murida and Aguad. Custodio had earlier unsuccessfully contested the Margao Municipal Council elections but had garnered substantial numbers of votes.
Prominent resident Francis Pinto welcomed Custodio candidature and said, “He is a person we can depend on 24×7 for any assistance. He has helped us a lot during the COVID-19 pandemic and is always just a call away. I am sure he will win with a thumping majority with the help of our MLA and former deputy chief minister Vijai Sardesai.”
Former councillor Jose Fernandes was all praise for Custodio: “When I was a councillor from 2015-20, Custodio worked along with me wholeheartedly for the people of our ward even though he had contested against me. He would never say no to any help or work in our ward. This time I have decided to stand with him firmly and give him an opportunity to serve the people of our ward. We would leave no stone unturned to get him elected with the blessings and support of our leader Vijai.”
Custodio was elated by his nomination. “I thank my leader Vijai for nominating me from Ward No 7 as his candidate. I would like to give a commitment to my people and my leader that I would serve them with utmost honesty and dedication. I have been working for my people for the last 10 years but never got an opportunity to represent them in MMC. This time I am confident that with the blessings of my people and Vijai, I would make it to MMC with a thumping majority.”
