PANJIM: The State Government has notified amendment to its ambitious medical insurance scheme, as per which government servants and their dependents will not be entitled for benefits under the scheme.
The State Cabinet had in October resolved to discontinue the benefit of Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojana (DDSSY) benefit to the government employees and their dependents since they are governed under the existing medical attendance rule.
Initially, the scheme was not applicable to government staffers. They were included following request from them. There are around 60,000 employees working in various departments. DDSSY, the scheme launched in September 2016, is currently been run on Third-Party Administrator (TPA).
The government has amended the Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojana published in the Official Gazette, Series 1 of No. 38 dated December 22. As per the amendment, the government employees and their dependent shall not be entitled under the scheme.
