BICHOLIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Sunday said the decision on immunisation of Made in India COVID-19 vaccine in the State would be taken soon after Centre’s order.
He was addressing media persons after hearing public grievances at Janata Darbar organised by Chief Minister’s Office at Ravindra Bhavan, Sanquelim.

He said the vaccine dry run commenced in Goa on Saturday at four places and a concrete decision on immunisation would be taken soon as per the guidelines from the Centre regarding COVID-19 vaccination programme for the general public.
“We have reviewed the vaccine preparations at the four centres in the State and all the procedures are underway in a proper manner. It will be decided after discussing with Centre the entire outline and will then start the process by giving priority to senior citizens and health workers first,” he informed.
Despite the crisis in the year 2020, the Chief Minister said, “The State government has reached a satisfactory level on all fronts. The availability of COVID vaccine in India on the first day of the New Year has come as a great relief.”
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached the pinnacle of his popularity at the global level and has earned the reputation of being a world-renowned leader by virtue of his leadership qualities,” he said.
On IIT project at Melauli, the Chief Minister said, “The government’s role is quite clear in this matter. The land has been allotted to the planned IIT project and the role of the government in this project is transparent. We have personally visited the village and have interacted with the people”.
Sawant clarified that the demand for setting up a police outpost at this place was not to intimidate the people but to bring law and order in the area with regards to safety of people and this fact has been misinterpreted by a section of people and the Opposition.
