PONDA: Former MLA Lavoo Mamledar on Sunday accused the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) leaders and Dhavalikar brothers namely Sudin and Deepak of creating an “alliance drama” with AAP to pressurise the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to forge a coalition with the regional party.
Addressing to media persons, Mamledar said Sudin and Deepak are creating an ‘alliance drama’ with AAP leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for their political survival.
He claimed that the MGP is losing its ground and alleged that this is political trick to pressurise BJP to form an alliance with MGP as the regional party is eying alliance with the saffron party.
Reacting to MGP leader Dr Ketan Bhatikar’s allegations that he (Lavoo) was defeated in the 2017 elections as he failed carry out development works in Ponda, Mamledar said despite MGP being the party of the Bahujans its leaders Sudin and Deepak did not provide him with an opportunity to carry out development work and even failed to give him a ministerial berth.
Lavoo alleged that the money sanctioned for the development works in Ponda was grabbed without undertaking them.
He questioned Bhatikar whether cheating means development.
He said hotmix carpet work in Ponda was not possible after launching the sewerage work which is still pending till date.
Lavoo said he had sent proposals for several development works in Ponda which are still pending and as minister it was Sudin’s responsibility to complete these works.
Meanwhile Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude alleged that the MGP has lost its base in the State and fearing defeat in forthcoming assembly elections, the regional party is making desperate efforts to form an alliance via backdoor entry with the Delhi-based AAP.
