Sawant stated that the government’s intention is clear — to introduce a system that ensures safety, security and transparency for both taxi operators and tourists visiting the state.

The proposed Digital Taxi Policy is expected to regulate taxi services while addressing issues related to fare transparency, passenger safety and the interests of local taxi operators in Goa.

The government has urged stakeholders to share their inputs so that the policy can be framed in a way that benefits both the transport sector and the tourism industry.
