Speaker Ganesh Gaonkar Urges Ministers to Maintain Decorum in Goa Assembly Amid Concerns Over Disruptive Behaviour

Ganesh Gaonkar has expressed concern over the conduct of members during Assembly proceedings, stating that a recurring pattern of disruptive behaviour has been observed during recent sessions.

Addressing the House, Gaonkar noted that members of the Council of Ministers have at times been raising their voices, shouting, taunting, ridiculing and making personal accusations against other members. He said such behaviour undermines the decorum expected during legislative proceedings.

The Speaker stressed that such conduct is contrary to the solemn oath of office taken by ministers under the Third Schedule of the Constitution of India.

Gaonkar urged all members to uphold the dignity and decorum of the Goa Legislative Assembly and conduct themselves in a manner befitting their constitutional responsibilities.
