MARGAO: Dindi festivities got underway in the Commercial capital on Friday near the Hari Mandir, which will culminate in the main Dindi festival on November 5.
The festivities were inaugurated at the hands of Group Editor of Tarun Bharat Kiran Thakur in the presence of Goa Tourism Development Corporation Chairman Nilesh Cabral and Chairman of Ravindra Bhavan Damu Naik on Friday.
In his brief address, Cabral underlined the need to organise the traditional Dindi festival in a big way from the tourist point of view. He expressed confidence that efforts to build a new Hari Mandir temple will soon bear fruit.
While the Dindi festival committee has organised host of programs in the run up to the main Dindi festival scheduled on November 5, the Comba-based Yuva Sanjivani will hold its traditional program on November 4-5 near the Vithal mandir as part of the Dindi festivities.
