PERNEM: Pernem police arrested Sushant Bhomkar (22) of Divar in connection with a brawl at two hotels in Gawdewada-Morjim on New Year’s Eve.
The accused was produced before the Pernem Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Pernem on Saturday and he was remanded to eight days police custody for further investigation.
On Friday, Mapusa Police had arrested one Savio D’Souza, who is presently admitted in hospital, and recovered a pistol from him. Police suspects that the same pistol was used in the Morjim incident.
Police has registered a complaint under Sections 143, 147, 148, 452 r/w, 149 of IPC and more arrest are likely to be made in this connection. Pernem police are investigating the case.
