In a strong statement, Vijai Sardesai has voiced support for residents of Mirabag, condemning the use of prohibitory orders to curb their protest.
Sardesai asserted that attempts to silence the democratic voice of villagers are unacceptable, stating, “Enough is enough. We stand firmly with the villagers of Mirabag, come what may.”
The MLA also criticized the role of the North Goa District Collector, accusing the administration of acting under political influence rather than serving public interest.
Emphasizing the right to dissent, Sardesai said that governance should focus on addressing people’s concerns instead of suppressing them. He further warned that Goa will not be silenced and called for respect for democratic principles.
The remarks come amid heightened tensions in the area, where authorities have imposed restrictions to prevent protest marches.
