PANJIM: A house belonging to Joaquina Fernandes of Naika Vaddo, Aldona caught fire on Monday evening resulting in a loss of Rs 2.5 lakh.
The incident happened at 4 pm wherein neighbours noticed smoke coming out from one of the rooms and immediately alerted the occupants.

Locals then rushed to the spot and managed to douse the fire and managed to save some goods before the fire brigade personnel could reach the site. It is believed that the fire was caused by a short circuit.
Items such as air conditioner, clothes, cupboard, LED TV, floor tiles, electrical wiring were reportedly damaged in the incident.
