PONDA: A school bus transporting students was involved in an accident at Shiroda, when the driver’s quick reaction to a woman on a bike coming from the opposite direction resulted in the bus colliding with an electricity pole by the roadside at Paz Shiroda.
Fortunately, the accident resulted in minor injuries to only five individuals, including the driver. Among the students, Trisha Gaonkar, 10, Sushma Gaonkar, 13, Ishan Gaonkar, 8, and Sanika Gaonkar,9, sustained minor injuries, while Saishri Gaonkar is currently receiving treatment at Shiroda Health Centre for stitches on her forehead.

The driver, in the interest of safety, had attempted to avoid a potential collision with the woman on the bike, which led to a loss of control over the vehicle and the subsequent collision. The driver has been admitted to Hospicio Hospital in Margao for further medical attention.
