When pointed out that the taxi operators have been asking for the Chief Minister to speak to them, he said, “They should withdraw the strike and then they can come for discussions.”

When told that the quickest way for the strike to end is for talks to begin between the government and the taxi operators, Sawant replied, “That is why I am saying, first let them withdraw their strike and then we will speak.”

The taxi operators have been criticising the government for failing to send a single representative to meet them during their 11-day-long strike that is set to continue.
