PANJIM: Goa government has taken serious cognisance of allegations against Fisheries Director Shamila Monteiro and her order of suspension is likely to come by Monday.
Sources in the government told Herald that the file for her suspension has been moved to Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar for an approval.
“The file was moved to CM on Friday. He is likely to sign it by Monday following which her suspension order will be issued,” the source said.
Fisheries Minister Vinod Palyekar had directed Monteiro’s suspension in a communique to Fisheries Secretary Govind Jaiswal on Thursday, over delay in the issuance of the mandatory RFID cards to fishermen. He has also alleged several irregularities which he refused to discuss in the media.
