CALANGUTE : A Group of tourists from Mumbai were beaten up by the staff of a shack at Calangute beach. One is in critical condition. The police took four people into custody. A case has been registered against the shack, who is a local panchayat member. In September, a Gujarat policeman was beaten up in the same shack.

The altercation occurred on a petty issue.
The complainant has been discharged from Hospital.
An offence has been registered, and the following individuals have been arrested in connection with the assault:
Noufal P.T., 28 years from Kerala; Rohit Kumar, 27 years from Himachal Pradesh;
Abhishek Kumar, 24 years from Himachal Pradesh, Vinod Kumar, aged 31 years also from Himachal Pradesh and Surinder Kumar, 28 years also from Himachal Pradesh
All accused are in custody and further investigation is in progress to ascertain the details of the incident, motive, and circumstances leading to the assault.
