VASCO: Mormugao Deputy Collector Sachin Desai on Wednesday warned the candidates and others of strict action for violating COVID safety norms.
On Wednesday, Pushpa Yadav and Aqueef Sayyed filed their nominations for the upcoming Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) elections.

Desai said since COVID cases are detected at several places, visitors including candidates visiting his office to file nominations are requested to strictly follow social distancing, wear face mask and use hand sanitisers.
He warned of strict action against those violating these norms.
“If any infected person deliberately visits the Deputy Collector’s office then an FIR will be filed against such person. If any candidate shows COVID symptoms then he/she may file nomination the form with the assistance of their agents,” Desai added.
