Many foreign tourists on the beach also rushed to the site, only to find the stranded whale struggling to get back into the sea.
Later, a group of 3-4 foreign tourists decided to turn the face of the mammal towards sea, which they did with great difficulty, saving the life of the whale. Some others assisted the foreign tourists by helping the whale swim back in the deep waters. The whale finally managed to make its way towards the sea.
Later, Canacona fire services personnel, Canacona police, deputy collector and the Canacona mamlatdar arrived at the site, only to be informed that the whale had left the shore.
However, it remains a mystery as to how a whale got stranded ashore, as different theories were doing the rounds at the beach.
