PANJIM: The State government on Saturday issued a notification directing that all industrial and establishment workers be paid full wages for absence on March 22, Sunday in wake of Janata Curfew called by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“All workers and establishments such as industrial workers of State of Goa, daily wages workers of Govt Departments and State Government Industrial Departments, Commercial and Industrial workers of Private establishments in Goa, workers of all private establishments and daily wage/ casual workers employed in any business, trade, industrial undertaking or any other establishment will be paid their wages in full,” the notification issued by General Administration Department said.
Further, it says, “This is in pursuance to the appeal made by Prime Minister of India on March 19 regarding social distancing all over the country on Sunday March 22, from 7 am to 9 pm.”
