PANJIM: The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) has allowed schools to conduct an offline or online or a telephonic one-to-one assessment of the Class X students, who failed to appear for any of the assessments conducted by the schools during the Academic Year 2020-21.

The Board has further asked schools to keep documentary evidence of the online or offline assessment to certify the recommendations. “The student may be assessed objectively on that basis by the school out of maximum marks of each subject,” GBSHSE secretary Geraldina Mendes said.
The Board has been receiving several questions cum queries with regards to tabulation of marks o class X students based on the internal assessment.
In one of the query raised by a stakeholder, the Board clarified that if any candidate has not appeared in any of the assessments conducted by the school, the school may conduct an offline/online or a telephonic one to one assessment and record documentary evidences to certify the recommendations.
Also, the Board has reiterated that the candidate (student) who is not satisfied with the marks allocated will be given an opportunity to appear in the exam to be conducted by GBSHSE as and when the conditions are conducive to hold the exams.
Nearly 24,900 students were due to answer their Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Board 2021 exams, which had to be cancelled in view of ongoing COVID pandemic.
The GBSHSE accordingly released policy for tabulation of marks as per which the evaluation of the students will be based on the marks scored in the different exams for the academic year 2020-21 and performance of Class IX.
The Board has informed that the distribution of marks obtained by the students of the school, subject-wise, will be made available to the institutions on their official website.
The Board has announced to declare the SSC result on July 13.
