GMC’s orthopedic head was not suspended for corruption, now reinstated

PANJIM: The head of the Orthopedic Department of GMC was not suspended for corruption but due to allegations of private practice. He was subsequently reinstated and continues as HoD of the department.

Herald in its page 2 perspective report (Dated December 28, 2014) on the state of the GMC has stated that the HoD has been suspended for corruption, which stands intrinsically and specifically clarified.
Reacting to Herald’s report, the HoD said, “That portion of the report was false, malafide and amounts to slander”. He further stated that he was suspended due to reasons he was not told since the letter of suspension did not state any reasons and was subsequently re-instated with no inquiry pending against him. “At no point of time was there an issue of suspension for corrupt practices”, he said.
The Herald stands corrected and expresses regret at the incorrect representation
of facts.
