A delegation from the Goa Maritime Officers Association met Digambar Kamat, Minister for Ports and Captain of Ports, at the Goa Assembly Complex on March 11, 2026.
The meeting, held in Alto Porvorim, provided an opportunity for discussions on the development of the maritime sector in the state and issues concerning the welfare of maritime professionals.
Members of the association highlighted various concerns and suggestions related to strengthening the maritime industry in Goa. They also discussed the need for policies and initiatives aimed at supporting maritime officers and improving opportunities within the sector.
The Ports Minister assured the delegation that the government remains committed to the growth of Goa’s maritime industry and to addressing the concerns of professionals working in the field.
Both sides expressed the importance of continued dialogue and cooperation to promote sustainable development of the maritime sector while safeguarding the interests and welfare of maritime officers in the state.
