Just hours after Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced that a fresh FIR would be filed and a detailed investigation launched into the alleged cash-for-job scam, the Crime Branch summoned Pooja Naik, key accused, for interrogation on Sunday. According to sources, Pooja was grilled for nearly four hours and her state ment was recorded. Officials stated that she may be summoned once again if required as part of the investigation. Earlier in the day, follow ing explosive charges from Pooja Naik alleging the in volvement of a minister, an IAS officer and a PWD en gineer in the scandal that rocked Goa last year, the Chief Minister announced that he will ask the police to file an FIR and summon Naik for a detailed investigation. Speaking to reporters, he said, “She does not have to meet me. I have investigat ing authorities. She should submit the names to the police. Strict action will be taken against whoever is named, including officials and ministers. Instead of making public statements, she should record her state ment before the police and magistrate. My government is transparent and we will not bow down to anyone.” It may be recalled that on November 7, 2025, Naik told a media outlet that she had, along with others, handed over Rs 16 crore in cash to the IAS officer and the PWD engineer on be half of more than 600 job aspirants. The money, along with application forms, was allegedly delivered at their offices in Porvorim and even at the Secretariat. “Not a single applicant was given a job. I am re paying the applicants in whatever way I can since the main recipients have re fused to return my money,” she claimed. Naik further warned that she would publicly reveal the names of those involved if the amount was not re turned within 24 hours. She had also expressed her intention to meet the Chief Minister and expose the al leged masterminds in the presence of the media.
