Goa is all set to burst into colour, music and merriment as the much-awaited Carnival celebrations begin with the grand parade in Panjim on February 14. The highlight of the day will be the traditional proclamation by King Momo, Cedric D’Costa, who will read out his decree urging people to eat, drink and make merry.
Adding to the festive charm, the opening day of Carnival coincides with Valentine’s Day, promising a perfect blend of romance and revelry for locals and tourists alike.
Following the Panjim parade, Carnival celebrations will move to Margao and Vasco da Gama on February 15 and 16, respectively. The festivities will then conclude with two parades in Mapusa and Morjim on February 17.

Several prominent locations in Panjim, including Church Square, Divja Circle, Kadamba Circle and Dayanand Bandodkar Road, have already been festooned with colourful decorations, lighting and Carnival-themed installations, setting the tone for days of joyous celebration.
