PANJIM: The Government of India has released a tax devolution amount of Rs 667.91 crore to the Goa state government, as part of a larger release of Rs 1,73,030 crore to states across the country on Friday. This tax devolution, based on net proceeds from Union taxes and duties, aims to support states in boosting capital spending and funding development and welfare initiatives.
The figure for Goa’s devolution this month is significantly higher compared to Rs 89,086 crore in December 2024. A higher devolution amount is being provided to enable states to accelerate capital spending and meet their development and welfare-related expenses, as stated by the Union Ministry of Finance.
