Another ganja plant found in capital city

PANJIM: Yet another ganja plant was found in the capital city where Smart City works are undertaken.

The plant was found growing among ornamental plants at Tonca, Caranzalem. This is the third instance within a week wherein a ganja plant has been found among the plants grown as part of Smart City beautification.

Last week, the Anti-Narcotic Cell (ANC) of Goa Police had seized and attached a cannabis plant outside a mall at St Inez, Panjim.

The ANC police had registered an FIR against unknown person/s for cultivation which is also a punishable offence under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The police had stated that they were rounding up previous accused persons involved in the trade.

The Panjim police registered a case against unidentified person/s for cultivating cannabis plants at St Inez. The police later uprooted three saplings suspected to be cannabis plants and were conducting investigations.
